Mid-Ohio Valley law enforcement reports multiple arrests - Parkersburg News

PARKERSBURG — Five people from the region were recently arrested for drug sales and wanton endangerment after separate incidents over the weekend.

Thursday, Kevin Dale Emerick, 55, 1802 Seventh Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested after he shot a rifle and pistol inside of his residence, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court.

“The bullets penetrated through the wall and into the residence at 1804 Seventh Ave. where four residents reside while three individuals were also inside (Emerick’s) residence at the time,” the complaint said.

Emerick is being charged with three counts of wanton endangerment and was being held at North Central Regional Jail on a $300,000 bond.

Haley Ashton Jett, 30, 171 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, was arrested Saturday for an incident that took place in April 2021, the complaint said.

Jett was pulled over for having a cracked windshield and she didn’t have an inspection sticker. Digital scales with a white residue were found under the driver’s seat and after she was arrested, officers found over 4 grams of fentanyl on her person, according to the complaint.

She is being charged with possession of fentanyl with the intent to deliver and was released on a $5,000 surety bond.

After a separate incident, Jerome Lee Blackwell, 43, 2611 Lincoln Ave. Apt. 4, Parkersburg, was arrested Friday, according to a criminal complaint.

Blackwell was seen walking on Lynn Street toward 16th Street. The officer recognized him and checked to make sure he didn’t have any warrants, the complaint said.

He was seen with a hatchet on his belt and while the officer was checking to see if he had any other weapons, he found a plastic baggie filled with about 64 grams of methamphetamine, cash, digital scales and a white powder substance, according to the complaint.

The officer also found an imitation firearm on Blackwell’s person with one live round, the complaint said.

Blackwell is being charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver and was released on a $10,000 surety bond.

Michael Scott Welch II, 31, 1107 29th St., Parkersburg, was arrested Friday after a separate, drug-related incident.

Welch was the passenger of a vehicle that was pulled over for an illegal registration in the 900 block of Laverne Street in Parkersburg, the complaint said.

Police dog Hawk indicated there were drugs in the vehicle and Welch had about 20 grams of fentanyl on his person, according to the complaint.

Welch is being charged with possession of fentanyl and was being held at North Central Regional Jail.

On Dec. 9, 2021, officers responded to the Wingate Hotel on Grand Central Avenue, leading to the arrest of David C. Adams, 51, 509 Buckeye St. Apt. 301A, Parkersburg, the complaint said.

Hotel employees asked officers to remove Adams as he had only paid for one day and had not paid for the current day. Officers found 253 grams of methamphetamine, scales, glass smoking devices and a butane cane, according to the complaint.

Adams is being charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver and was being held on a $20,000 surety bond.
