Miya's Law passes Florida Legislature - Orlando Sentinel

TALLAHASSEE — Miya’s Law, which seeks to make apartments in Florida safer through mandatory background checks on employees, is headed to Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The Florida Senate gave final approval Friday to legislation named after slain Orlando college student Miya Marcano, who grew up in South Florida and lived in Pembroke Pines.
