Modernizing Court Technology - Above the LawAbove the Law - Above the Law

The reason we all legitimately view the 2022 ABA TECHSHOW as a karmic bookend, is that time we all adjourned from Chicago, the pandemic was still a few weeks away. I remember sitting in the hotel moments before leaving for my flight chatting about how the pandemic was definitely coming but that the crisis would pass relatively quickly. I guess I was speaking in geologic time.

But the bookend effect also altered the whole tech narrative with a heavy emphasis on the practical solutions everyone employed to make it through the various shutdowns.

I got a chance to speak with Judge Scott Schlegel of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, about the process of moving a whole court system to virtual proceedings to keep justice moving, what lasting changes have been made, and which tech solutions proved most helpful along the way.
