OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio

Traffic complaint: Bagley Road

An Olmsted Falls school district bus driver went to the police station Oct. 4 and filled out a school violation form for a motorist who did not stop for a school bus. Police wrote out a citation for that motorist.

Traffic stop: Lindbergh Boulevard

An officer cited a motorist with speeding Sept. 30 near Wyleswood Drive.

Traffic stop: Lewis Road

An officer followed a car at 11:16 p.m. Sept. 30 through Chestnut Grove Cemetery. The car stopped in the rear of the property. The motorist was warned for trespassing in the cemetery at that late hour.

Blocked railroad crossings: Lewis Road

A Norfolk Southern Railway train blocked the Lewis, Columbia and Brookside railroad crossings at 8:36 a.m. Oct. 1. The city was advised the train was outlawed and had to stop. A new crew was on its way from Pennsylvania but were about an hour away. Police went to Columbia Road to help a semi-truck back up and with mounting traffic. The train finally began moving at 11:22 a.m. All were cleared at 11:33 a.m.

Parking violation: Preserve Way

A resident was cited for parking in front of a fire hydrant.

Foot patrol: Lewis Road

Police found two cars at the East River Park parking lot at 8:50 p.m. Oct. 1. The teens who were in the area took off running. They were later cited for park hours. An officer took away a vape pen found at the scene.

Juvenile complaints

A resident at 6:26 p.m. Oct. 3 saw kids kicking and throwing orange cones from a construction zone. One of them threw a cone that hit and damaged a mailbox. An officer arrived at the scene and found the teens. One of them admitted damaging the mailbox. The officer spoke with the teens’ parents. The officer fixed the mailbox, but he was unable to make contact with the residents who lived there.

Traffic stops: Lindbergh Boulevard

Police cited several motorists with speeding on the boulevard over the last week.

Attempted burglary: Grist Mill Court

A resident turned on the light in the kitchen at 12:32 a.m. Oct. 6 and saw a man trying to break in through the kitchen window. The man ran away when the light was turned on. He was seen heading toward the park. Police were unable to find him.

Found property: Fitch Road

A woman went to the police station at 12:02 p.m. Oct. 6 with a wallet she found on Fitch Road. The owner of the wallet was contacted and planned to retrieve his wallet that day.

Theft: Columbia Road

A few cars parked at Riverview Pointe Care Center were broken into Oct. 6. It was unknown what may have been stolen from them.

Theft: Columbia Road

A victim called police Oct. 6 about a theft that occurred Sept. 29. The thief removed a laptop, two iPads and a cell phone from a car whose windows were down.
