Multiple agencies conduct major law enforcement operation in Des Moines metro - KCCI Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa —

The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Iowa announced a major law enforcement operation early Tuesday morning.

Twelve federal search warrants were executed at locations around the Des Moines metro early Tuesday morning.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the searches were conducted by officers, agents, and investigators from the Des Moines Police Department; Federal Bureau of Investigation; Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force; Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force East; Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement; Iowa Division of Intelligence and Fusion Center; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; Iowa State Patrol; Iowa State Patrol SWAT; West Des Moines Police Department; METRO Star; and SERT.

Officials said there was no known danger to the public at this time.

No information was released about any specific locations or pending charges in the operation.
