Multiple law enforcement agencies work to locate, arrest man charged with murder - WLOS

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — A man charged with second-degree murder is in custody due to efforts from several law enforcement departments in the mountains.
The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office says on April 11, its Criminal Apprehension Team (C.A.T) was requested to assist the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in locating Lamar Eugene Cannady, who had an outstanding True Bill of Indictment for second-degree murder.
Cannady was located in Ellenboro the next day, where he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Polk County Detention Center.
In a press release, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office C.A.T thanked members of the Unified Narcotics Task Force, Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation for their assistance in the case.
"The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Teams main function is to locate and arrest wanted fugitives from justice, C.A.T also are members of the Unified Narcotics Task Force and assist in Narcotics investigations when needed," a press release from the sheriff's office said. "Since January 2022, C.A.T has been requested by numerous other states including Georgia, Missouri and South Carolina to locate and arrest fugitives from their state hiding inside Rutherford County and the surrounding area."
Anyone with information about wanted fugitives is asked to send that information through the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office mobile app, which can be found in Google Play or the Apple App Store by searching "Rutherford County Sheriff NC."
