Multiple law enforcement officers respond to situation in New Hanover County - WECT

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - A man was injured and a young girl, whose age is unknown, was threatened and at some point held hostage during an incident on Bozeman Road in New Hanover County Tuesday night.

The man was taken to the hospital and the girl is safe. Her injuries are unknown at this time.

Deputies with New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and multiple other emergency service crews responded to the situation, which began around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

While the investigation is underway, the northbound lanes of Carolina Beach Road near Bozeman Road are closed.

Multiple viewers reported seeing SWAT with large weapons at the scene.
