New Law Will Help Families to Search for Missing Persons | - wkok.com

HARRISBURG – A new law has been passed and signed into law, which will help family’s solve missing person cases.

State Representatives Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-108th, Sunbury) and Dave Millard (R-109th, Berwick) say the law requires state police to turnover DNA samples of missing persons and to the database of the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NAMUS).

Rep. Millard says families will be able to access the database with no cost and play an active role in the search of their missing loved ones.

NAMUS is a nationwide organization which worked with the FBI in 2012 to add fingerprint unit to its search capability.
