New Orleans council Utility Committee set to vote on ethics law for campaign contributions - WDSU New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS —

The New Orleans City Council Utility Committee is holding a public meeting Tuesday to hear comments and vote on a proposed ethics law that bans campaign contributions.

The meeting begins at 11 a.m.

A vote in favor by the Committee will move the proposed law to the full New Orleans council for a vote.

If passed, it would be the first law to ban campaign contributions to council members by corporations and other entities regulated or under contract by the council.
