New York’s new to-go drinks law requires you to buy food. Is a bag of chips enough? - syracuse.com

Wings
Chicken wings are among the "substantial" food items that can be sold with take-out orders of alcoholic beverages in New York.

New Yorkers can once again legally buy alcoholic drinks like wine and cocktails “to go” from bars and restaurants, as they could briefly during the height of the Covid pandemic shutdowns.

But the change in state law comes with several restrictions. The most notable is that all takeout alcohol must be sold in sealed containers, wine and liquor can’t be sold by the bottle, and the price must be the same as for dining in.
