North Ridgeville police lay down law (humorously) on early Christmas decorations - cleveland.com

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — Today is Nov. 1. For some ambitious, Christmas-loving folks, it’s already time to begin putting up decorations.

Not in North Ridgeville ... that is if the police department has anything to say about it.

In a tongue-in-cheek post on Facebook, the department decided to remind residents that the Christmas season does not begin on the day after Halloween.

“... Based on social media posts that we’ve seen, we feel it is incumbent upon us to point out that regardless of what you read, Christmas season does NOT start (Monday),” the post reads. “We’re looking into it, but it might be considered Disorderly Conduct to put Christmas decorations out (Monday) and if enough people on your street do it, possibly Aggravated Riot.

“Let’s all be cool and get through Thanksgiving.”

Will the residents of North Ridgeville heed the department’s request? That remains to be seen.

But it’s clear WCLD FM/103.9 in Cleveland would be in violation ... it already is playing Christmas music through the end of the year.
