Some towns and villages in Onondaga County are still deciding whether to allow retail marijuana sales in their community. The deadline is Dec. 31.

Many Onondaga County communities have voted to block retail cannabis sales as the Dec. 31 deadline to decide looms.

In fact, 13 villages or towns in the county are prohibiting marijuana sales under the new state law, according to a count by Syracuse.com. Another four will allow sales but block cannabis consumption sites.
