Pa. High Court Blocks 'Marsy's Law' Vote Count Based on Improper Ballot Question | The Legal Intelligencer - Law.com

Pennsylvanians’ votes on a proposed victim’s rights amendment will not be counted, the state Supreme Court ruled, because the question posed to voters on the ballot contained multiple, unrelated parts, in violation of the single-subject rule.

The high court upheld the Commonwealth Court’s entry of a permanent injunction that blocked votes cast on the victims’ rights amendment from being certified, though an unofficial count estimated that 74% of voters were in favor of the amendment, also known as “Marsy’s Law.”
