Like all shiny new toys that become available to The Powers-That-Be, the temptation to extract the very maximum of use from them often proves to be highly irresistible, especially when there is nothing and no one to prevent them from doing so.
But all good things come to an end and the autopsy now being carried out on the NSO debacle reveals a marked dimming of Israel's star and the less than stellar portrayal of its role on the world stage.
So, there is now a need for another shiny new toy with which to balance the books and create some sense of overall purpose and even pleasure out of what has long been a most unsatisfactory and unedifying state of affairs.
