Prosecutors, Law Enforcement Officials Back US in DACA Appeal - Bloomberg Law

Scores of current and former prosecutors and law enforcement officials backed a Biden administration appeal of a U.S. district court judge’s ruling that the DACA program protecting undocumented immigrants who entered the U.S. as children from deportation was unlawful.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit should side with the government and reverse Houston Judge Andrew Hanen‘s decision that President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals initiative was implemented unconstitutionally, the officials argued in their friend of the court brief filed Wednesday.

Hanen’s July ruling also said protections should be left in place for “Dreamers” already ...
