Prospect of US privacy law in 2022 'grim' - IAPP

TechTarget reports on the potential for a federal privacy law in 2022, calling the prospect “grim” despite bipartisan Congressional support. Electronic Frontier Foundation Senior Staff Attorney Lee Tien said the energy around privacy “has sort of flattened out” while U.S. states are adopting their own laws, and Resolute Strategic Services Executive Vice President Cory Simpson said questions around enforcement and preemption of state laws are presenting challenges to a federal law.
