Regional leaders to lead new areas at law firm, foundation hires CFO - Sarasota Herald-Tribune

The Shumaker law firm has selected the following Sarasota partners to serve as leaders for its newly established lines of service. Each line of service focuses on a different area of law, giving the firm’s top leaders a chance to shape the vision for future business.
The new lines of service focus on the most emerging and in-demand fields of law due to advances in technology and policy.
• Daniel J. DeLeo is regional leader for the Litigation and Disputes Service Line. Board certified in business litigation, his practice focuses on commercial disputes, with particular emphasis on representing businesses in contract disputes, business torts and complex business litigation.
• Cheryl L. Gordon is regional leader for the Wealth Strategies Service Line. She focuses her practice on estate planning and business and transactional tax law. She advises a wide variety of corporate and high net-worth individuals about tax and legal aspects of their business activities.
• Benjamin R. Hanan is regional leader for the Corporate, Tax and Transactions Service Line. He focuses his practice on business matters, such as entity formation, organizational and capital structure, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and estate planning.
• Mark D. Hildreth is regional leader for the Finance, Banking, Creditors' Rights and Insolvency Service Line. He is board certified in business bankruptcy law.
• Jan W. Pitchford is regional leader for the Real Estate and Development Service Line. Pitchford represents individuals and corporate clients in connection with the acquisition, development and construction of residential and commercial real estate projects. She is board certified as a Real Estate Specialist.
The Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, of Sarasota, has hired Ev Bosque for the newly created position of chief financial officer.
Bosque will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the foundation through the direction of its fiscal, fund accounting and investment activities.
Bosque has served 29 years as a certified public accountant working as an executive in finance and operational areas in the Tampa Bay region for distribution and manufacturing companies. Most recently he was the chief financial officer for EMI Industries, a fixtures company with 300 employees and five manufacturing plants across the U.S.
Bosque was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but has spent most of his life living in Florida. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Florida.
