Remembering A Legal Academic Legend - Above the LawAbove the Law - Above the Law

The first woman of color appointed to a tenured professorship at Harvard Law School, Lani Guinier, recently passed away. Guinier’s nomination by President Clinton for what position was withdrawn over criticism over a law review article titled, “The Triumph of Tokenism: The Voting Rights Act and the Theory of Black Electoral Success”?

Hint: Guinier met Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton in law school. She was also a law school classmate of Clarence Thomas.
