Republican Committees Can Intervene in Texas Voting Law Suit - Bloomberg Law

Local and national Republican committees were given permission by the Fifth Circuit to intervene in suits seeking to enjoin enforcement of new Texas voting laws because their interests are different than the state’s.

Texas SB 1 is designed to amend the state’s election code provisions dealing with voter registration, voting by mail, poll watchers, and other areas of election security. Its constitutionality is being challenged in a number of consolidated cases.
