RSHS Fire, Law and Leadership Academy to Give Away Free Blue Lights - SweetwaterNOW.com

ROCK SPRINGS — The Rock Springs High School Fire, Law, and Leadership Academy (FLLA) is excited to announce that they will be helping to celebrate National Police Week, which is coming up October 13-17.

The students and the staff of the FLLA along with RSHS Principal Glen Suppes, will be acknowledging the 140-160 law enforcement officers, that our nation loses on average, every year in the line of duty.

The FLLA students will be giving out and helping to put up blue lights for Rock Springs residents who would like to celebrate with them. The FLLA students are hoping to promote public support by honoring law enforcement officers in their serious and sometimes extremely dangerous work in their line of duty.

The Meaning of the Blue Light:

While there has been historic misuse or misrepresentation of the blue light for alternative purposes, its intended purpose is very simple: solidarity and respect for police and law enforcement officers. It is displayed to share encouragement and gratitude for the men and women who dedicate their lives to keeping the public safe. It is also displayed to honor the lives lost in the line of duty. When you display a blue light, you send a message to law enforcement personnel that you appreciate them and support them.

If you would like to participate and receive a blue light, please respond to the email below to be placed on the list: [email protected]
