Santa Ana’s rent control law is on after efforts to repeal it fail - OCRegister

Efforts to stop Orange County’s first rent control law ended Monday when the California Apartment Association dropped its drive to put Santa Ana’s new ordinance before voters.

Association officials, who had until 5 p.m. Monday to submit the necessary signatures for a referendum, criticized city officials for enacting what they called “an extreme policy that will end up hurting the families it is in . . .
