Savannah law firm collects donations for homeless women - WJCL News
SAVANNAH, Ga. —
A local law firm and the community have rallied together to help homeless women.
For the last month, the Oliver Maner Law firm has been accepting donations of household products and other necessities to be given to the new Parker’s House: A Home For Women.
Many of those items were purchased by Victoria White and her family as a result of them going through some hard times themselves.
“With someone else’s help we made it through, we made it through," White said. "So that’s why I feel compelled to try to do as much as I am able to help somebody else who’s less fortunate than I am.”
“We were extremely overwhelmed," said Amelia Stevens, a lawyer at Oliver Maner. "Our mailroom was just overflowing with supplies and donations. We definitely exceeded expectations we had for ourselves and we’re just extremely lucky to be able to get back in this way.”
Union Mission collected the donations Wednesday and they will be used at its Parker's House: A Home Women when it opens in early 2022.
