Illinois State Police also reminding drivers that violating Scott's Law could face fines up to ten thousand dollars.
Chatham Police officer David Leach has this message for drivers:
"So if you are driving and you see any sort of flashing lights on the side of the road, whether it's red & blue - its an ambulance - or its orange - a tow truck - please slow down and move over into the other lane to keep everyone safe," Leach said.
Officer Leach says that if you can't move over than you need to slow down. Scott's Law was created in 2001 after a Chicago Fire Lieutenant was hit and killed while responding to a traffic accident.
