Several northeast Missouri law enforcement agencies capture vehicle thief in Novinger - ktvo.com

NOVINGER, Mo. — Multiple law enforcement agencies conducted a manhunt on the ground and from the air for what they called a dangerous truck thief from Green City.
It took place late Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening in and around Novinger.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at around 4:45 p.m., the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office received word of a white GMC pickup eastbound on Highway 6 driving erratically.
When officers attempted to make a stop, the truck sped off. The Adair County Sheriff's Office eventually took over the chase, but the vehicle got away.
A Novinger resident later located the stolen truck in Novinger.
Early on in the investigation, Adair County Sheriff Eldon Grissom stated that the truck was stolen.
Officers set up a perimeter in Novinger, and they started looking for the driver.
After a lengthy search, law enforcement was able to take the suspect into custody.
He was reported to be a 19-year-old man from Green City.
His name is currently being withheld pending charges. KTVO will keep you updated as we learn more.
