Southern University Shreveport to begin law school classes January 2022 - Shreveport Times

The Shreveport extension of the Southern University Law Center will begin classes in the renovated Shreve Memorial Library beginning January.

The inaugural class will be eight Southern University Law students who have roots in Northern Louisiana and felt an early move back to the region could help secure post-graduation employment.

The eight students will be in their last semester. Plans are that another group of students will take their final semester at the Shreveport campus in Spring 2023. Eventually the campus would serve professionals who are seeking law degrees on four year tracks during nights and weekends.

"I meet people all the time who say I want to go but all of the law schools are in southern Louisiana. What I say is you’re closer now. We’re going to remove all excuses to say if you want it, we’re here," said Deleso Alford, Off Campus Instructional Site Director.
