Spirit Lake law enforcement agreement | KNOX News Radio, Local News, Weather and Sports - knoxradio

In an effort to further battle crime on the Spirit Lake Reservation various law enforcement agencies have signed off on an agreement to assist the Bureau of Indian Affairs in enforcing federal laws.

The Special Law Enforcement Commission Deputation will allow law enforcement to react immediately to observed violations and emergency situations.

Among those participating in the agreement: FBI and BIA…Devils Lake police…and law enforcement from Ramsey County…Benson County…and Eddy County.

Spirit Lake Tribal Chairman Douglas Yankton Sr. and North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley participated in Wednesday’s signing ceremony.
