St. Louis-area law firm Armstrong Teasdale opens office in Dublin, Ireland - St. Louis Business Journal - The Business Journals
Less than one week after announcing plans to open an office in Washington, D.C., Clayton-based law firm Armstrong Teasdale LLP has expanded again.
This time, it’s a two-attorney office that opened this week in Dublin, Ireland.
“Dublin is a key steppingstone in our European expansion plans,” Chairman David Braswell said in a written statement. “We now have important footholds in both the (United Kingdom) and (European Union) markets in a post-Brexit environment and are better-positioned to serve our clients in Europe and beyond.”
With the addition of Washington, D.C, and Dublin, Armstrong Teasdale will have 16 offices. Over the past three years, the firm’s new offices included Miami, Boston, London, New York City and Philadelphia.
Reflecting the moves, Armstrong Teasdale in January created a new C-suite information technology position in its Clayton headquarters to handle growth, promoting Timothy Pyatt. Also, the firm started a new growth department in 2021 led by Katie Davis as chief growth officer.
The law firm said the Dublin office initially will focus on corporate and capital markets, intellectual property, employment and immigration support for clients. The firm also plans to expand its sports law practice in Europe.
Two natives of Ireland — Daniel O’Connell, partner and leader–Europe, and partner Yvonne Costello — have opened the Dublin office. O’Connell will lead Armstrong Teasdale’s offices in London and Dublin.
“It is our plan to begin rapidly growing this office and expanding our service offering in Ireland,” Davis, the chief growth officer, said in an email.
Armstrong Teasdale ranked 93rd last year of the St. Louis area's top privately-held companies, based on 2020 revenue volume with $149.24 million, according to Business Journal research. It had 165 local attorneys as of July.
