STEER CLEAR: Law enforcement urges middle Tennesseans to avoid roads if possible - WZTV

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Snowfall in parts of Middle Tennessee is impacting roads south of I-40 with other areas north of the highway expected to deteriorate as the day progresses.
Heavy rainfall causing a wintry mix will freeze as temperatures drop and rain turns to snow. FOX 17 Chief Meteorologist Katy Morgan says the wet ground will ice over, causing slick conditions. Unlike the previous snow storm, today's snowfall will carry more moisture and be heavier.
Some crashes have been reported on I-65 SB near I-840 with I-65 SB from Brentwood to Columbia reporting delays according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation map.
Law enforcement agencies are urging residents to avoid the roads unless necessary. Impacts to the roads could carry into Monday morning or early afternoon.
