BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A man was charged with stealing an ambulance from Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster this afternoon, then striking two law enforcement vehicles and a parked car along Route 32.
The ambulance had just dropped off a patient at the hospital.
The suspect stole a Baltimore County Fire Department ambulance - Franklin Fire Station's Medic 56 - from the hospital at about 12:14 p.m., said the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
The ambulance was found about 7 miles south on Route 32, in the Finksburg area, where it had struck a Maryland State Police vehicle and a Carroll County Sheriff's Office vehicle. The Sheriff's Office vehicle was pushed into a parked car.
The suspect was taken into custody near Gamber Fire Company at about 12:30 p.m.
No one was injured in the crash.
The driver was not the original patient from the ambulance. The driver was taken to Carroll Hospital Center to be evaluated; charges are pending, said the Sheriff's Office.
