Taft law firm hires 4, including former federal prosecutor - Cincinnati Business Courier - Cincinnati Business Courier
Downtown law firm Taft Stettinius & Hollister, one of the largest in Cincinnati, has brought on four new attorneys, including a former federal prosecutor.
Taft, headquartered at 425 Walnut St. downtown, announced Jan. 12 Dominick Gerace II, a former assistant U.S. attorney both in the Southern District of Ohio and the Eastern District of Virginia, has joined the firm as partner; Larry Williams Jr. as attorney of counsel; and Sam Zeller and Junru Zhao as associate attorneys.

Taft Cincinnati Partner-in-Charge James Zimmerman said hires represent growth in key practice groups in the firm.
"Each of these lawyers brings impressive experience, enabling us to provide broader and deeper service to our clients," he said in a news release.
Gerace serves as partner in the firm's compliance, investigations and white collar defense and commercial litigation practice groups, focusing his practice on advising corporations and individuals in complex criminal, civil and regulatory matters. He previously practiced at the firm before spending a decade as an assistant U.S. attorney in Ohio and Virginia, where in the former he served as deputy criminal chief.
Gerace graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and served as an armor officer in the U.S. Army before graduating magna cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Williams, registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office, practices in Taft's intellectual property group. He advises clients on strategic patent portfolio planning and management; domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution; infringement, validity and clearance issues; as well as other phases of securing and exploiting intellectual property.
Williams earned a bachelor's in chemistry from Wright State University, following that up with a Ph.D in Chemistry from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He earned his J.D. manga cum laude from Widener University School of Law. Prior to joining Taft he practiced in firms in Delaware and Cincinnati, most recently at Dinsmore & Shohl.

Zeller represents publicly and privately held companies, as well as private equity firms and their portfolio companies, including on structuring and negotiating leveraged buyouts and other complex transactions including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, as well as corporate restructurings and recapitalizations. He also advises firms on corporate governance.
Zeller graduated from Indiana University with bachelors' degrees in history and german and earned his J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law. He joined Taft from the Chicago law firm of Kirkland & Ellis.

Zhao concentrates her practice on transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formation, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. She earned her bachelor's in accounting from Illinois Wesleyan University and her J.D. from the Washington University School of Law.
Taft is Cincinnati's fourth-largest law firms by the number of local attorneys, according to Courier research.
