OCEANA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Hart Public Schools Superintendent Mark Platt said his school district is in a “soft lockdown” after it received a threat which law enforcement is now looking into.

Platt didn’t say how or when the district received the threat, but said it is being investigated by Oceana County law enforcement, Muskegon County law enforcement and the FBI.

“We have partnered with each other due to the fact that several other schools in Muskegon county received similar threats,” Platt said. “All parties are deeply committed to finding the person(s) and prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law.”

Platt said as part of the soft lockdown, the district is limiting the movement and activity of students and staff until the threat has been assessed.
