Many lawyers spend much of their careers aspiring to run their own law firm, and when that day comes, it is crucial to prepare for the upcoming challenges of a new law firm. In the beginning, lawyers often forget that there are two sides to operating a legal practice. While the cases generate revenue, you also have to manage that money to be successful.

Law school doesn’t exactly teach you how to run your own firm. Law firms behave similarly to small businesses from an operational standpoint in their early days, but the people running them are also practicing lawyers. Managing both the legal and business aspects of a new law firm can be difficult, so it is crucial to have the right people in your corner as you are starting up.
