Tully school board hires law firm to investigate district’s treatment of gay student - syracuse.com

Tully, N.Y. – The Tully school board voted Monday night to hire a law firm to conduct an independent investigation into how the district treated a gay high school student whose personal essay was initially rejected for a school publication.

The board hired Cynthia Maxwell Curtin, a lawyer from Curtin Law Firm, to do an independent investigation into the issues surrounding how the district handled Tyler Johnson’s essay in the school newsletter.
