UND School of Law receives federal grants for Tribal Judicial Institute - Grand Forks Herald
The UND School of Law has received $850,000 from two federal grants for its Tribal Judicial Institute.
Information about the grants came from a Monday, Dec. 20, release from the office of Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D. The U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance gave the law school a $600,000 grant to provide training and technical assistance in developing a response to an increase of crime at the tribal level.
The second grant of $250,000 was also given by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, and will be used to foster collaboration between tribal, federal, state and local governments, with an emphasis on law enforcement.
The city of Bismarck also received a $900,000 grant for an opioid, stimulant and substance abuse program site-based program for first responders.
