UVA Law earns high ranking for graduate school program - - CBS19 News
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The University of Virginia School of Law has been named one of the top law schools in the country.
U.S. News and World Report released its 2023 rankings for graduate school programs, including law school.
Overall, UVA Law came in at number eight in the country, behind Yale, Stanford, the University of Chicago, Columbia University, Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania - Carey, and New York University.
The national ranking is based on several factors, such as placement of graduates, faculty resources, and opinions from lawyers and judges on overall program quality.
U.S. News and World Report has also ranked several other programs at UVA, including the Schools of Medicine and Nursing.
The School of Education and Human Development is among the top 20 overall programs in the country at 17, while the Darden School of Business came in the top 15, coming in at 14th.
The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences was ranked 37th, and the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy came in at 35th.
Finally, multiple graduate programs in the School of Arts and Sciences ranked highly, with English coming in at 11, History at 18, and U.S. Colonial History at four.
