As legal consultant Jordan Furlong noted in a recent column, law firm culture is defined by “what is rewarded, what is tolerated, what is overlooked and what is punished.” One could also argue that culture is defined by what is discussed, what is worried about and what is acted on.
Over the course of 2021, Law.com reporters examined how law firm culture has changed and how firms attempted to maintain it throughout a year of constant uncertainty. Much of this centered around issues like returning to the office (or not) and how a more flexible work environment affects firms, their clients and their employees.
