Wichita law firm plans growth with move to northeast Wichita office building - Wichita Business Journal - Wichita Business Journal

A Wichita law firm has room to grow with a move to Wilson Estates Office Park at 21st and Rock.

Ward Potter LLC, which focuses on family law, will relocate from the Riverview Building downtown to the Simmons Bank Building at 8415 E. 21st St. The move means the firm has room to expand into family law arbitration and mediation, and also add three family law attorneys, according to a news release shared Monday.

“At a time when most law practices and businesses are reducing their footprints, we are expanding,” said Lynn Ward, founding member of Ward Potter.

Ward and Tony Potter became partners in 2019. The firm handles divorce, child custody, parenting time, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, along with other areas of family law.

“In a family law case, mediation is the best way for the parties to retain control of what matters most and make decisions affecting their children and assets," said Potter, who's been mediating cases for 20-plus years. "Judges do a good job of making those decisions when parties can’t, but no one makes a better decision for a child than parents. When parents make those decisions in mediation, they not only resolve the issues but set a foundation to help resolve future issues.”

Relocating from a suite on the first floor of the Riverview near 2nd and Waco, Ward Potter LLC will nearly double its footprint at the Simmons Bank Building.

The practice joins more than two dozen professional service officers at Wilson Estates. Ward Potter will move in this fall following a renovation by ICON Structures, with SPT Architecture as the architect on the project.

“I’ve known and respected Lynn for years, so I was thrilled at the opportunity to work with her and Tony to help them find a new home. Ward Potter is an excellent addition to the other high caliber companies at Wilson Estates Office Park,” said Paul Jackson, president of Vantage Point Properties, which owns and manages Wilson Estates.
