Two Birmingham law firms have joined forces.
Wilson Law PC has integrated into civil litigation firm Gaines Gault Hendrix PC.
Wilson Law Senior Shareholder David M. Wilson has joined the firm as a partner. Wilson Law attorneys Devona J. Segrest and Jonathan B. Metz have joined as of counsel and associate, respectively. Marie T. Prine, formerly of Gregory Varner & Associates Attorneys at Law, also joined the firm as a partner.
Wilson focuses his practice on motor carrier negligence, premises liability, construction defect, product liability, workers’ compensation and general insurance defense.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in transportation from Auburn University and his J.D. from Birmingham School of Law while serving as a dispatcher at Malone Freight Lines. He is a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA), the trucking law committee at the Defense Research Institute and is a regular speaker and author for industry and claims groups.
Prine, who also served as a staff counsel for Allstate while at Varner & Associates, focuses her practice on complex automobile accident litigation, insurance defense and general civil litigation. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Metz also was a member of Allstate’s staff counsel. His practice includes insurance defense litigation with a specific focus on defending personal injury cases. He has experience in workers’ compensation, construction defect, commercial trucking litigation and subrogation recovery.
Metz, who earned his J.D. from Samford University Cumberland School of Law, was an attorney at Alexander Shunnarah Personal Injury Attorneys PC prior to his time at Wilson Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. prior to law school.
Segrest focuses her practice on automobile litigation, appellate advocacy, general civil litigation, insurance coverage, insurance defense, premises liability and workers’ compensation.
Prior to Wilson Law, she was an attorney at Ely & Isenberg LLC, according to her LinkedIn profile. She earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of South Alabama and her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law.
