Wilson Sonsini and Workiva Inc. Named Among The National Law Journal's "2022 Legal Technology Trailblazers" - wsgr.com

On February 1, 2022, The National Law Journal released its second annual list of Legal Technology Trailblazers. The Trailblazer series is a special supplement developed by the business arm of The National Law Journal and spotlights a handful of companies and products proving to be agents of change. Wilson Sonsini and Workiva Inc. are named among top legal technology trailblazers for the WS-1, an automated application that reduces inferences involved in preparing the Form S-1 initial registration statement. In 2021, Wilson Sonsini partnered with Workiva Inc., known to simplify complex work for thousands of organizations worldwide, to automate this arduous task facing companies going public.

The WS-1 changes the IPO registration statement drafting process in three ways: completely removing the time-consuming process of inputting thousands of relatively boiler[1]plate provisions and pieces of data about the company as part of preparing the S-1, ringing the process to a digital format starting from day one of the process, instead of attempting to “cut over” at a much later point (such as prior to the first SEC submission), and changing the way the external legal team, internal legal team, and company business team work with each other, from a “pass the ball” model to a live collaboration model. The Workiva platform provides trusted transparency into every step of the process.
